Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today won the support of Rhode Island leaders, including former Governor Don Carcieri.

“I am proud to have the support of these Rhode Island leaders,” said Mitt Romney. “I am especially pleased to have won the endorsement of Governor Carcieri. I know him well from our time serving as governors and look forward to working with him again during my campaign.”

Announcing his support, Governor Don Carcieri said, “As a fellow New England governor, I understand the challenges that Mitt Romney has faced. He was able to turn around the economy in Massachusetts, create jobs, and cut the state’s budget without raising taxes. With his proven record of results as Governor, I know that he is the right man to lead the country at such a critical time.”
